Miss Rodeo USA Kristin Scott

Over the river and through the woods to the Duvalls house we go!! And that is the truth!Lets just say I don't take directions very well. I spent the night with Amy, Tom, Hayden, and Nathan. I got up this morning to go see Dr. J. and Mrs. Deb. We all went to lunch and then we went back to the office, which scared me to death but Dr. J and all his staff are so nice, and they make you feel so comfortable. After tonight I go back to Alabama to pack up my stuff and be back to take my pictures with Jim Grillot. Then after January 28th I am an Okie transplant!

Welcome back to the real world... OY!

Kristin Scott Miss Rodeo USA 2008

How do you put into words the emotions I felt when they called out my name? After a full week of interviews, modeling, questions, and horsemanship I was in shock and awe when they said my name. This pageant has taught me more about myself than I ever thought possible! I just want to send out a special thank you to everyone who sponsors, and volunteers to make this pageant possible without you it would not be the same. Thank you to my sponsors and rodeo committee for your support and encouragement. I want to thank my family for everything they have done to help me get this far! And to everyone I encourage you to all "branch out" and try new things, I did and now I'm living my dream as Miss Rodeo USA 2008!!!

Day 7, Part 2 - Miss Rodeo USA Pageant: Signature Sponsor, Ariat International

Tonight we said goodbye to Miss Rodeo USA 2007, Candice Carper. I first met Candice in 2003 when she first ran for Miss Rodeo USA and I was a judge. I thought she was wonderful then, but she was running against
Leslie Burgreen from Alabama, and no body was going to beat Leslie that year. When we spoke after the pageant that year, I told her she should come back and that she would make a terrific queen...She came back, she won, and she was great!
And now another young lady from Alabama will represent the International Pro Rodeo Association.
Kristin Scott, Miss Limestone Sheriffs Rodeo... you are now Miss Rodeo USA 2008, the future is what you make of it, welcome to the IPRA... It is your year to shine!

Win, Lose, or Draw, there are many experience from this week I will cherish forever. Seven days with a limited number of people allow for many close conversations and interactions. The following are some of the things I have came up with!

I have made many new friends and networks to last a lifetime.

I have been reminded to find contentment in all aspects and situations in life.

There are ALWAYS positives.

No matter what, the world still turns and ONLY I can make my life what I want.

I CANNOT be perfect all the time.

There is NO ONE who can get in the way of my dreams.

When it comes down to it, the memories we've made are what really matters.

Never live with regrets because you never know what tomorrow will bring!

I have had a great week and look forward to the future and what is to come!

Kate

Sarah Crisswell Miss E.T.C. Rodeo #10

"Today is the last day of the first day of our lives" is what my room mate said as we woke up this morning. Today is the last day of the competition and there is a beginning here as well. This whole week has been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I will never forget all the tears we shed at the children's hospital, all the amazing tours and sites we saw, all the amazing food, and all the laughing sessions we had with the girls, judges, sponsors, and chaperone's. I will never come home the same ever again. Even though this may be my last pageant I am walking away richer than any millionaire in this world (and not just cause we got loaded up with gifts). The knowledge, memories, and experience we have all gained will be the "bumper rails" of our bowling lives. So weather win-lose- or draw I will take this with me to share with any one who will listen. I will tell them my mistakes, my passion for rodeo, my cries, and laughs, because each of the 9 girls walk away still rodeo queens, we were all rodeo queens before we got our crowns. We all supported, promoted, competed, encouraged the sport of rodeo before we came here and we dont need a sash or title to do that! Thank you to all the people here this week who have helped facilitate the change that I will be living by for the rest of my life! And thank you Rachel, my room mate, for being my best friend and sister. For one last time: I miss and love you family, cowboy and friends........ and I will not come home the same.

Morgan Davis Miss Rocky Top Therapy Center

Hey ya'll  this pageant has been an eye opening experience.  Although the days were long and strenuous I have learned that no matter whether not I win I am still a good person and I can reach for the stars if I want to.  I will be taking away new friends and memories that will last a lifetime.  The boost for your self esteem and people skills will last forever and no one that has been here will ever forget the experiences.  This has been a character building process that will stay with me for the rest of my life.  Thank you Miss Rodeo USA, for the experience that I have received I will never forget it.
